Pull down rope for rudder blade.
This rope has been selected for its stretch properties. Why I can hear you say? If you imagine you have a zero stretch rope – then it would be impossible to tie off tightly or cleat. Since the length of rope is so short it makes making fast even harder – so we have used a stretchy rope to help sweat it tight – I can play a tune on mine when it is fastened off! If I had a non stretch one – it would be almost impossible to make fast with any tension in it.
